Rooted in Nature

Reconnect with nature, the original healer, at our two breathtaking Costa Rican sanctuaries. Awaken to sunrises over the Gulf of Nicoya at Playa Blanca, or misty mountain mornings at Scarlet Valley. For many, it’s the most connected to nature they’ve ever felt.

Life within the retreat

How the land, spaces, and amenities support your time here

A Seaside Sanctuary

Located on the calm and beautiful Gulf of Nicoya in the mountainous jungle of Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula, wake to the sounds of howler monkeys and birdsong, watch the sunrise over the water, and gaze at the stars from our stardeck.

Warm, Tropical & Sun-Drenched

Playa Blanca enjoys a classic coastal tropical climate — warm and sunny, with sea breezes rolling in off the Gulf. This retreat space is for those who want to feel fully immersed in the heat and aliveness of a tropical seaside environment.

Restorative Accommodations

Every room is intentionally designed with comfort and connection to nature in mind. Our range of suites includes thoughtful amenities, en-suite bathrooms, and private balconies overlooking the jungle canopy or the Gulf of Nicoya.

A Beach, Pool, Jungle Gym & Stardeck

Outside of ceremony and circle, explore our two nearby semi-private beaches, the open-air yoga palapa, jungle gym, or hammocks strung through the trees. Relax in our pool and enjoy evenings with warm tea and conversation on the stardeck.

Intimate Group Sizes

With an average of 15 guests (maximum 22), Playa Blanca fosters a close-knit healing container where every person receives individualized attention from our Shipibo healers and facilitation team, both in ceremony and throughout the retreat.

Nourished by the Coast

Our conscious kitchen serves meals made from locally sourced, organic ingredients — many supplied by nearby farmers and fishermen on the Nicoya coast. Food that is alive, clean, and deeply connected to the land and sea that surrounds us.
