A path shaped by purpose, guided by experience, and led with heart

OUR STORY

Guided by a Deeper Purpose

Soltara was born from a shared vision: a space where healing could unfold in harmony with nature, tradition, and community. What began as a deep calling to serve has evolved into a sanctuary where people from around the world come to reconnect with themselves, each other, and the Earth, and remember what truly matters.

With a deep respect for the land and an ethos of safety, integrity, and reciprocity, our commitment to individual and collective thriving is our call to service. We aim to build a culture and community based on grounded, accessible wisdom rooted in a spirit of cultural awareness and education.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

Catalyzing personal and collective transformation

Our mission is to catalyze personal and collective transformation through safe, deeply meaningful Ayahuasca retreats, guided by Indigenous Peruvian Shipibo healers and expanded with integrative care.

Together, we build bridges and soulful community across cultures, healing paradigms, and ways of knowing to restore harmony with ourselves, each other, and the natural world.

Our Ethos

Honoring Shipibo wisdom, serving medicine with integrity, holding space for our collective thriving

Honoring Indigenous Tradition

Plant medicine healing has existed for thousands of years - a sophisticated, well-established system long before Western medicine. We take our role in its expansion seriously. At Soltara, we work exclusively with Indigenous Peruvian Shipibo Master Healers, Curanderos - Onanya in Shipibo - with decades of training in the Amazon. We place a strong emphasis on cultural awareness, elevating Indigenous voices, and honoring the tradition that makes this work possible.

A Safe Sanctuary

Our highest priority is your physical, emotional, energetic, and spiritual safety. From intake to integration, you are supported by a highly experienced and compassionate team of healers, facilitators, therapists, and medical advisors who understand the holistic nature of this work. Informed consent, individual and community support, and onsite safety protocols allow you to rest easy and embrace the process fully. We warmly welcome people from all walks of life who feel ready and called to this work.

Holistic Healing

We honor the Indigenous wisdom that all things are interconnected, and approach healing from that same perspective. Our inner world of body, mind, emotion, and spirit, and the outer world that holds us: ceremony, icaros, and the guidance of the Maestros; nature immersion, nourishment, and community; preparation and how we carry this work into our lives - every element is woven into the same living whole, because your healing and our collective thriving are inseparable.

Reciprocity & Benefit Sharing

All of life is interwoven - none of us exist in isolation, and giving back is how we honor what we've received. We live this out with the communities who hold this work: supporting the Shipibo people and their families; investing in our local Costa Rican neighbors through schools, donations, and employment; and partnering with aligned organizations in Amazon conservation and Indigenous rights. We are deeply grateful for the chance to give back - in truth, it is our highest mission and ultimate purpose.

Personal Empowerment

We honor the healer within, and the body's innate ability to restore balance. This work is not about fixing you, but awakening your own inner power - facing, reclaiming, and integrating the parts of yourself shaped by fear or old patterns. Our team humbly and skillfully reflects your power back to you, rather than claiming to hold the answers, helping you reactivate your agency in your healing and your life. We provide the space, tools, and support to discover and walk your own unique path.

Community & Integration

With Soltara, you're not just booking a retreat; you are stepping into a global community and a full year of guided personal growth. Integration is as important as ceremony itself - it begins on retreat and continues for months and years after you return home. We provide 1:1 coaching, resources, sharing circles, and community spaces to help you translate your expanded self into an expanded life. Many guests leave with meaningful friendships, newfound family, and healing that becomes belonging.
